Clarity is a design systems conference founded in 2014, providing diverse perspectives for design, development, and product. As part of the 2021 fully virtual conference, I was initially brought on to help with email marketing for a final ticket sales push.
Utilizing MailChimp, I worked with event organizers, Kickass Conferences, to create four marketing emails that featured speakers, programming, social, and continuing education themes to entice subscribers to purchase tickets.
Simultaneously, in the weeks leading up to the event, I created eight attendee communication emails that were sent to registered ticket holders, highlighting featured speaker sessions, necessary reminders, virtual attendance information, social events, and other details to ensure the several hundred attendees were kept informed (while building excitement) before the conference began.
The week of the event, I created three daily emails that recapped that day’s events, including speaker takeaways and social highlights, while promoting the next day’s schedule.
The 2021 Clarity conference exceeded ticket sales expectations and surpassed sales from the previous event years.
In 2022, we worked together again. I led a refreshed website content strategy to clarify the event’s purpose and benefits, alongside editing speaker bios and event descriptions.
I then overhauled the email marketing strategy, conceptualizing content themes across 18 marketing emails, 8 attendee communication emails, and 3 daily event recaps, and then copywriting, uploading, and scheduling all communications.
